Meet the Blue’s Cues Dog Training Team!
Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed
Julia Avery
My origin story is that of many trainers. I adopted a dog with some big feelings, specifically when she would see other dogs on leash. In my journey to help her (and myself) work through it, I became fascinated by animal behavior and decided to pursue a career in dog training so that I could help others to better understand their big feelings dogs.
Blueberry was also my first bully breed, and I have witnessed first hand the unfair stigma that these face, so advocating for dogs who look like her is a huge mission of mine.
Before making the career switch to dog training, I worked full time as a personal trainer and CrossFit coach. The communication skills that I have gained in my 10+ years coaching humans has been a huge asset when it comes to supporting clients in working with their dogs.

Blueberry
Certified Bestest Girl
I adopted Blueberry when the world was shut down in April 2020, and she was estimated to be 3 years old.
She may look serious, but she’s actually just a goofy girl. Her love language is snacks, and I like to joke that she would sell me for a chicken nugget, but I know she would miss me as soon as I was gone.
She truly is the most incredible dog. I love watching the way her mind works, teaching her new skills, sharing meals with her, adventuring together. She has taught me more than I could have ever imagined and I will be forever grateful that I brought her into my life.
